Daily Painting #3: January 6. Actually a Broadtail Hummingbird, this little bird was a gift from my friend and mentor, Clive Tyler. He found it frozen to a branch one cold day in Autumn a few years ago. Knowing that I collect birds (and keep them in a freezer in my studio!), he gave me the tiny treasure. Last night I decided to paint it! This little gem is approximately 4x4", oil on linen panel, ready to frame.
