Panel, step 2

I've defined a little more how the horses will look in this painting, and am starting to add in color and values. I'm still a bit cautious at this stage, because it is important to keep the "edge" of the dark area, which is probably a horse's neck/mane pretty true to the original design on the panel in order for it to "read" correctly when placed in the mosaic.

Checking back in! Coming along great! It IS a bit scarey painting these panels, isn't it? It took me a week before I could start throwing down some paint. Looking really good!
